“All the adventure your imagination can hold.”

In 1994, Richard Tyler (Macaulay Culkin) is a boy who knows the odds on every accident and so avoids his bike and his treehouse. A storm sends him into an old library, where Mr. Dewey (Christopher Lloyd) greets him and he is pulled into the world of books, to find his way back. Joe Johnston and Pixote Hunt put live action beside animation, and Richard learns that being afraid of everything keeps a person from living in anything.
