The Painted Veil

“Do not pass love by...It may never come again!”

Katrin Koerber Fane (Greta Garbo) marries Walter Fane (Herbert Marshall), a doctor, and follows him to China while he carries out his medical research. He is absorbed in his work, and she is left lonely, drawn toward Jack Townsend (George Brent), a handsome diplomatic attaché. Richard Boleslawski sets the story in a marriage already strained, where one affair puts a husband, a wife, and everything they have built at risk.
