The Past

In Argentina, after twelve years together, Sofía (Analía Couceyro) and Rímini (Gael García Bernal) have agreed to separate. Rímini settles into a new life without much trouble, while Sofía stays where the marriage left her and turns up again and again in his days. Héctor Babenco, adapting Alan Pauls's novel, keeps her in the edge of Rímini's frame, a figure he never quite manages to walk away from.
