The Peasants

“Love comes and goes but land stays.”

Jagna (Kamila Urzędowska) is a young woman in a Polish village whose family has settled her marriage to Maciej Boryna (Mirosław Baka), a wealthy farmer much older than she is. She loves his son Antek (Robert Gulaczyk), and the match leaves her sitting in the same house as him. Hugh Welchman and DK Welchman tell it in painted animation, while the villagers' envy turns on Jagna, who keeps trying to hold on to her independence.
