Nancy Taylor (Gabrielle Union) is a divorced mother of three who feels her loneliness most at Christmas, when all she wants is one nice man or even one nice compliment. Her daughter Emily takes the wish to the mall Santa, Benjamin Armstrong (Morris Chestnut), a struggling songwriter who knows the right words to say. Lance Rivera sets a mother's quiet hope against a little girl's plan, and Nancy's happiness is what's at stake.
