The Personal History of David Copperfield

“From rags to riches... and back again.”

Why does one boy keep drifting from house to house in the 1840s, from an unhappy childhood to the people who will shape him? David Copperfield (Dev Patel) is passed among stranger relatives and odd acquaintances, among them Betsey Trotwood (Tilda Swinton) and Mr. Micawber (Peter Capaldi), while he looks for a place of his own. Armando Iannucci fills the frame with colour, and David keeps writing it all down.
