The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes

A beautiful opera singer, Malvina van Stille (Amira Casar), is carried off by Dr. Emmanuel Droz (Gottfried John), a doctor with a plan to turn her into a mechanical nightingale. Timothy and Stephen Quay, the brothers behind the film, give it the look of a dark fairytale, with Assumpta (Assumpta Serna) and the gardener Holz (Ljubisa Gruicic) among those in Droz's keeping. Casar stands before the doctor, an opera singer who has become an object in his plan.
