The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!

(2012)Directed by Peter Lord88 min · PGAnimation, Adventure, Family, Comedy
“It's a plunderful life.”

In the age of sail, the Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant) has a beard, a ship, and a loyal crew, but he has never won the Pirate of the Year award. Peter Lord, working in stop-motion at Aardman, sends him and the Pirate with a Scarf (Martin Freeman) to Victorian London, where Charles Darwin (David Tennant) and an unfriendly queen wait. Underneath the silliness, a pirate is measured by the crew who sail with him, not by treasure.
