The Place Beyond the Pines

“One moment can change your life.”

In Schenectady, New York, Luke Glanton (Ryan Gosling) rides a motorcycle in a travelling carnival, until he learns that Romina Gutierrez (Eva Mendes), who he once spent time with, has had his son. Derek Cianfrance follows him as he decides that robbing banks is the quickest way to provide for them. His choice draws in Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper), a young police officer, and Luke is bound to him.
