“A journey like you’ve never imagined.”

A boy on Christmas Eve is no longer sure he believes in Santa Claus, and he wants proof one way or the other. Then a train called the Polar Express stops outside his house, and its conductor (Tom Hanks) invites him aboard for a ride to the North Pole. Robert Zemeckis, adapting Chris Van Allsburg's 1985 picture book, fills the cars with children in pajamas, the boy among them, doubt still riding along.
