The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom

“She wanted to give her daughter the best shot at being a cheerleader... The things you do for your kids.”

In a Texas suburb, Wanda Holloway (Holly Hunter) wants her daughter Shanna on the cheerleading squad, and Verna Heath (Elizabeth Ruscio)'s girl has just taken the spot. Michael Ritchie plays the story straight-faced, as a housewife's plan to hire a hit man grows out of ordinary school-year grudges. Wanda keeps leaning on her brother-in-law Terry (Beau Bridges), and his wife Marla (Swoosie Kurtz) watches the two of them from across the family kitchen.
