The Postman's White Nights

Lyokha (Aleksey Tryapitsyn) carries the mail across a lake to a village on the edge of Russia, and he wants the woman he loves to stay. She moves to the city, and soon after, someone steals the outboard engine that lets him do his rounds. Andrei Konchalovsky filmed with the villagers playing themselves, and what holds the story is the pull between Lyokha and the one who left.
