The Power of the Dog

Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch) rules a Montana ranch in 1925 with a charm that can turn cruel, and a secret from his past he keeps carefully out of sight. When his brother George (Jesse Plemons) marries the widow Rose (Kirsten Dunst), Phil sets out to wear her down, and her slight, watchful son Peter (Kodi Smit-McPhee) comes with her. Jane Campion lets the cold between Phil and Peter grow slowly into a bond neither of them can name.
