The Premature Burial
“Within the Coffin I Lie...ALIVE!”
In the early 1840s, Guy Carrell (Ray Milland) is a painter who has just married Emily Gault (Hazel Court) and should be happy. Instead he withdraws from her, sunk in a fear that he will be buried alive, until it crowds out the marriage itself. Roger Corman adapts Poe's story with Dr. Gideon Gault (Alan Napier) and Guy's sister Kate (Heather Angel) watching, and the real subject is what a fear that fixed does to the people who live beside it.
