The President's Wife

“One Chirac can hide another”

Bernadette Chirac (Catherine Deneuve) spent years in her husband's shadow, working to make Jacques (Michel Vuillermoz) president, and expected a place of her own once they reached the Elysée Palace. Instead she is set aside as too old-fashioned, and Léa Domenach follows her decision to become a major media figure. Deneuve sits in the palace she was promised, her husband across the room, her son-in-law's world of cameras and advisers pressing in.
