The Prince of Pennsylvania

“He's looking for love, happiness, wisdom, truth and the meaning of life. All by next Thursday.”

Rupert Marshetta (Keanu Reeves) is a young punk rocker in a remote Pennsylvania coal-mining town, and he wants out of it badly enough to risk a crime. He and Carla Headlee (Amy Madigan), a hippie woman with her own reasons to leave, plan to kidnap his father, Gary (Fred Ward), and hold him for ransom. Ron Nyswaner puts Rupert in the middle of it all, a kid with a punk's hair and a pariah's stare, standing in a coal town.
