The Prince of Tides

“A story about the memories that haunt us, and the truth that sets us free.”

In the South Carolina low country and in New York, Tom Wingo (Nick Nolte) is a troubled Southerner who travels north when his sister attempts suicide. Her psychiatrist, Susan Lowenstein (Barbra Streisand), asks him to talk through the Wingo family's history, one painful session at a time. Streisand directs the two of them in her office, where the questions she asks him slowly turn into a love neither of them planned.
