The Princess Bride

“It's as real as the feelings you feel.”

Buttercup (Robin Wright) is taken from her home, and the man who once loved her, a farmhand named Westley (Cary Elwes), is the only one who might come after her. Between them lie six-fingered swordsmen, Sicilians, rodents of unusual size, and Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon), who has plans for her. Rob Reiner plays the fairy tale straight and the jokes dry, so the sword fights and the sentiment get equal footing.
