“She raised ten kids on twenty five words or less.”

Evelyn Ryan (Julianne Moore) is a Midwestern housewife raising a large family with a husband, Kelly (Woody Harrelson), who drinks and lashes out at home. She keeps the household afloat by writing slogans for consumer-product contests, one jingle after another. Jane Anderson adapts Terry Ryan's book as a true story about the working-class kind of resourcefulness that holds a family together when the paycheck can't.
