The Program

“Pressure surrounds them. Competition divides them. Glory unites them.”

Why does a winning season at a big university leave so many of its players in trouble? David S. Ward, who also directed the Major League films, follows the football team through one season, with Sam Winters (James Caan) coaching and Darnell Jefferson (Omar Epps) among the players. Some of them drink, some use drugs, a few bury themselves in their studies, and each carries the weight of the game in a different way.
