Lance Armstrong (Ben Foster) comes back from cancer to win the Tour de France, and the sport treats him like a miracle. David Walsh (Chris O'Dowd), an Irish sports journalist, doesn't buy it, and he starts collecting evidence that Armstrong's wins run on banned substances. Stephen Frears follows the chase from both sides, the rider's win-at-all-costs ambition against a reporter who keeps asking about it.
