The Proposal

“Here comes the bribe...”

Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock), a book editor who runs her New York publishing house like a drill sergeant, will do whatever it takes to stay in the country and keep her job. That means marrying her assistant, Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds), who has spent years fetching her coffee and answering to her. Anne Fletcher sends the pair to meet his family, and what the film cares about is how people end up looking after each other.
