The Prowler

“Watch out for…”

Webb Garwood (Van Heflin) is a Los Angeles cop who resents his job and blames everyone else for how little it has given him. A call about a prowler sends him to the home of Susan Gilvray (Evelyn Keyes), a married woman alone at night, and Joseph Losey keeps the two of them in that house for long stretches. His attention to her turns into an affair she does not see coming, and she lets him in.
