The Public

“Every story matters.”

Stuart (Emilio Estevez) is a librarian in Cincinnati who wants only to keep his reference desk open to the people who depend on it, many of them homeless. When the bitter cold sets in, they refuse to leave at closing time and take over the building. Estevez puts Stuart across from Detective Bill Ramstead (Alec Baldwin), two men on opposite sides of a locked door who slowly find they want the same thing.
