The Public Eye

(1992)Directed by Howard Franklin99 min · RCrime, Drama, Thriller
“Murder. Scandal. Crime. No matter what he was shooting, "The Great Bernzini" never took sides, he only took pictures... Except once.”

Leon Bernstein (Joe Pesci) is a crime photographer who wants his pictures out of the tabloids and into a book with his name on it. His work is the grim kind, bodies on the pavement at night, shot before the police finish taping off the scene. Then Kay Levitz (Barbara Hershey) hires him, and Howard Franklin's thriller draws Leon into a conspiracy where the camera has stopped being his shield.
