The Quack

Rafał Wilczur (Jerzy Bińczycki) is a famous surgeon until drunken bullies beat him and leave him with no memory of who he was. He wanders into a village, lives with a poor family, and is soon called the Quack when his old skill returns and he starts saving patients. Jerzy Hoffman adapts the 1937 novel by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz, and the villagers' trust in the stranger sits beside what his wife Beata (Anna Dymna) has not stopped looking for.
