The Quiet Man

“Action... Excitement... Romance... Fill the Screen!”

Sean Thornton (John Wayne) is an American who has come back to the Irish village where he was born, a stranger in the place he is from. He meets Mary Kate Danaher (Maureen O'Hara) and wants her, which puts him against her brother, Squire "Red" Will Danaher (Victor McLaglen). John Ford shoots the countryside in rich color, and the film treats home as a place a person has to earn their way back into.
