The Quiller Memorandum

(1966)Directed by Michael Anderson104 minThriller, Drama, Crime
“He played the most dangerous game in Europe, and he played it alone.”

Two British agents are dead in Berlin, killed by a neo-Nazi group that goes by the name Phoenix, and no one in London knows who runs it. Quiller (George Segal) is sent in to find out, with Pol (Alec Guinness) directing him from a distance. Harold Pinter wrote the screenplay, and Michael Anderson shot it on location in West Berlin, where Quiller is the one the group will come after next.
