The Railroad Man

In 1956 Italy, Andrea Marcocci (Pietro Germi) drives a train, and a man throws himself in front of it. The shock follows him into the cab, where the mistakes begin, and a doctor's check-up reports he is close to becoming an alcoholic. Germi directs and stars, and Andrea is demoted and put on a smaller salary, a proud man who has to carry it home to his family.
