The Razor's Edge

“Hunger no love... woman... or wealth could satisfy!”

Larry Darrell (Tyrone Power) comes home from the First World War unable to settle into the ordinary life his friends expect of him. He breaks off his engagement to the socialite Isabel Bradley (Gene Tierney) and goes off to find out what he actually believes. Edmund Goulding frames the whole story through the narrator Somerset Maugham (Herbert Marshall), who watches the drawing rooms and the years go by.
