The Real Blonde

“What you see isn't always what you get.”

In New York's fashion and entertainment circles, Joe (Matthew Modine) is an aspiring actor taking whatever work comes, while his girlfriend Mary (Catherine Keener) puts up with her own frustrations. Meanwhile Bob (Maxwell Caulfield), a friend of Joe's, goes looking for fulfillment with a blonde. Tom DiCillo, who also wrote it, keeps the satire loose, following each of them from one humiliation to the next.
