The Reckless Moment

“It could happen to so many married women!”

A dead man is lying where he shouldn't be, and the only person who finds him is Lucia Harper (Joan Bennett), a housewife whose husband is away. He is the lover of her teenage daughter Bea (Geraldine Brooks), and Lucia hides what she has found before anyone can ask questions. Max Ophüls follows her through the days after, and the film leaves her alone at the edge of the water, the rain still falling.
