The Red Light Bandit

“A third world western”

In 1968 São Paulo, the press has a new name for a burglar who breaks into luxury houses carrying a red flashlight. Jorginho (Paulo Villaça) grew up in the slums and now talks to his hostages in an irreverent tone before spending the money extravagantly, while Delegado Cabeção (Luiz Linhares) chases him. Rogério Sganzerla, about 22 when he made it, shows a man shaped by poverty and made famous by sensational headlines.
