(1948)Directed by Michael Powell, Emeric Pressburger133 minDrama, Romance
“Dance she did, and dance she must…Between her two loves!”

Victoria Page (Moira Shearer) joins the Ballet Lermontov as a young dancer and is soon given the lead in a new production of "The Red Shoes," scored by the company's composer Julian Craster (Marius Goring). Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger set her between Boris Lermontov (Anton Walbrook), who demands that nothing come before the ballet, and Julian, who wants her for himself. She loves to dance, she loves a man, and she is asked to choose only one.
