The Red Tent

“Forget everything you've ever heard about heroes. Now there is "The Red Tent."”

General Umberto Nobile (Peter Finch) is an old man tormented by guilt, and he goes back in memory to 1928 and the airship Italia, his Arctic expedition that failed. Mikhail Kalatozov frames the story as a reckoning, with Nobile questioned by a panel of the dead, among them Roald Amundsen (Sean Connery). Nobile sits alone, still carrying all of it, and the only color left in his memory is the red of the tent.
