Spain in the 1920s and 30s: Aurora (Najwa Nimri) has fashioned her daughter Hildegart (Alba Planas) into a prodigy and public intellectual on female sexuality. But Aurora's grip tightens as Hildegart's fame grows and her own influence slips away. Paula Ortiz builds the tension between them in close rooms and whispered arguments, the camera catching small cruelties that accumulate between two people bound by blood and ambition.
