Seth Dove (Jeremy Cooper) is a boy in 1950s rural Idaho who wants to know why the children around him keep vanishing. He settles on Dolphin Blue (Lindsay Duncan), the widow living up the road, and decides she is a vampire. Philip Ridley sets Seth's certainty against the farmland and a brother, Cameron (Viggo Mortensen), who falls under her spell.
