The Reivers

“Boon is a reiver (that's a cheat, a liar, a brawler and womaniser) and he had just four days to teach young Lucius the facts of life (like cheating, lying, brawling and womanizing).”

In turn-of-the-century Mississippi, eleven-year-old Lucius is talked into taking his family's car on the sly by Boon Hogganbeck (Steve McQueen), a ranch hand who can't resist a dare, and a friend who goes along. Mark Rydell sends the three toward Memphis, where Corrie (Sharon Farrell) and the house run by Miss Reba (Ruth White) wait at the end of the road. For Lucius, the trip is about seeing how grown men behave when nobody is watching.
