The Reluctant Astronaut

“He's an Astro-Knott Turned Astronaut in the Maddest Mix Up in Space History!!”

Roy Fleming (Don Knotts) runs a kiddie ride in his small town and wants one thing most: to stop letting his domineering father down. Dad has signed him up for the space program, so Roy heads to Houston, only to learn the job is janitor, and he lets the family back home go on believing he's an astronaut. Edward Montagne puts Roy among the rockets and Major Fred Gifford (Leslie Nielsen), a man deathly afraid of heights holding a mop.
