The Richest Woman in the World
Marianne Farrère (Isabelle Huppert), an elderly heiress to a vast cosmetics fortune, signs over hundreds of millions of euros to Pierre-Alain Fantin (Laurent Lafitte), a younger artist she keeps close. Her daughter Frédérique (Marina Foïs) files a complaint for abuse of a vulnerable person, and the scandal reaches the newspapers. Thierry Klifa loosely draws on the Bettencourt affair to show how money decides who gets to love whom, and who gets blamed for it.
