The Rider

A horse crushes Brady Blackburn (Brady Jandreau) at a rodeo in South Dakota, and the doctors tell him his riding days are over. Chloé Zhao shot the film in the Badlands with Brady's own family, so his father Wayne (Tim Jandreau) and his sister Lilly (Lilly Jandreau) play versions of themselves. Brady looks for a new way to be a man, while Lilly stays close, the one person he doesn't have to explain himself to.
