The Ring
“Two boxers compete for the love of a woman.”
"One Round" Jack Sander (Carl Brisson) is a fairground boxer who takes on all comers, and he wins Mabel (Lillian Hall-Davis) as his wife. The marriage goes flat, and she turns to Bob Corby (Ian Hunter), a rival boxer who has loved her all along. Alfred Hitchcock made this silent picture in 1927, and it keeps coming back to how love and the fight game both leave a person waiting for the other's attention.
