The Ritz

“The funny season begins when you check in for a night at The Ritz.”

Gaetano Proclo (Jack Weston) is hiding from a mobster, so he tells a cab driver to take him somewhere nobody would think to look. The cab stops at a gay bathhouse, where Gaetano hides while Googie Gomez (Rita Moreno) rehearses her act. Richard Lester adapts Terrence McNally's play, and underneath the chase it is about a man learning that places he feared are full of ordinary people.
