The River
Hsiao-Kang (Lee Kang-sheng) wants only one thing: for the pain in his neck to stop. It began after he floated in a polluted river for a film shoot, and no doctor or remedy has loosened it. Tsai Ming-liang follows Hsiao-Kang and his parents, Father (Miao Tian) and Mother (Lu Yi-ching), as he lives with it, stiff and silent, unable even to turn his head.
