The Road

A father (Viggo Mortensen) and his young son (Kodi Smit-McPhee) move through a scorched wasteland toward the coast, pushing a shopping cart with their few possessions. They navigate collapsed highways and abandoned towns, hunted by roving bands of cannibals. Hillcoat shows us a world where survival means holding onto your humanity when everything around you demands you surrender it.
