The Rock

(1996)Directed by Michael Bay137 min · RAction, Adventure, Thriller
“Alcatraz. Only one man has ever broken out. Now five million lives depend on two men breaking in.”

Dr. Stanley Goodspeed (Nicolas Cage) is an FBI chemical weapons expert who is better with a lab than a gun. He gets pulled into the field when Brigadier General Francis X. Hummel (Ed Harris) takes Alcatraz and aims missiles loaded with chemical weapons at San Francisco. Michael Bay pairs Goodspeed with John Patrick Mason (Sean Connery), the one federal prisoner who has ever escaped the island, and the nervous scientist has to trust a convict who trusts no one.
