After two decades away, João Grilo (Matheus Nachtergaele) returns to his small hometown of Taperoá and reunites with his old friend Chicó (Selton Mello). Word spreads that João has risen from the dead, and suddenly the town's two most powerful politicians want him as their electoral candidate. Lacerda and Arraes set the film in the gaps between what people believe and what they'll do to make it stick.
