The Romantic Englishwoman

“The conflict of a love triangle”

Elizabeth (Glenda Jackson) leaves her writer husband Lewis (Michael Caine) and her comfortable English home and goes to Germany, and when she comes back she isn't alone. Joseph Losey follows the three of them through a house full of money, where Lewis, stuck on his script, starts writing the stranger in. Lewis sits at his desk with the page in front of him, still waiting for the next line.
