The Rookie

“Packing years of experience and a .45 automatic, L.A. detective Nick Pulovski figures he's got all the help he needs. He's also got all the help he doesn't need. His new partner is The Rookie.”

Nick Pulovski (Clint Eastwood), a veteran Los Angeles cop, has gone through partners the way other men go through cars, and several of them died on his watch. Now he gets David Ackerman (Charlie Sheen), a rookie as hotheaded as he is, and the two start working a ring that steals exotic cars. Eastwood directs the pairing as a grudging, sideways kind of trust, with Nick unwilling to say he needs anyone.
