“2,000 colleges. 8 million roommates. Which one will you get?”

Sara Matthews (Minka Kelly) is a design student from Iowa, new to Los Angeles and eager to fit in. Her roommate Rebecca (Leighton Meester) is wealthy and quick to take Sara under her wing, and Christian E. Christiansen keeps their dorm room close and bright. Friendship here turns into possession, and the closer one girl holds on, the less room the other has to move.
